Julian Assange Autobiography, Unauthorized “Draft” Memoirs to Be Published by Canongate

Since the early days of WikiLeaks, the Julian Assange Autobiography has been much anticipated. Who is Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks? What was the impetus behind WikiLeaks in his own words? The book would allow Assange tell the story of WikiLeaks and his own journey from his direct point of view with little outside or third party interpretation. Now, in a tremendous turn of events, publisher Canongate will release “Julian Assange: The Unauthorised Autobiography.” This Julian Assange Autobiography is being published without consent from the WikiLeaks founder and after after legal, financial and contractual wrangling. “Julian Assange: The Unauthorised Autobiography” will be available September 22nd, 2011.

The Knife of Bradley Manning and Indian Students Attacked in Austrailia

Pfc. Bradley Manning, whose name is carved permanently in whistleblower and Wikileaks Movie history, brandished a knife while threatening his stepmother in 2006. This story emerges after a recent PBS Frontline coverage on Wikileaks, with particular focus on the life history of Bradley Manning. Manning first made headlines after surfacing as the whistleblower responsible for the massive leak of US diplomatic cables to Wikileaks who then embarked on Cablegate to make those classified and secret documents available to the public via various news agency partnerships. After Manning was turned in he was jailed at Virginia’s Quantico prison where his treatment came under fire from various dignitaries and organizations including P.J. Crowley, who later resigned over his comments regarding the “stupid” treatment of Bradley Manning.

Wikileaks Movie: Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios Options Two Books

The Wikileaks Movie universe expanded this week as Speilberg’s DreamWorks Studios optioned movie rights to two books on Wikileaks and Julian Assange. While no director or producer has been associated with this Wikileaks Movie we have confirmed through numerous sources that Dreamworks Studios, which is co-owned by Steven Spielberg, has indeed acquired rights to two books. The first book, titled “WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy” was written by journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding who work at The Guardian and have been deeply involved in the Wikileaks and Julian Assange affair. The other book, titled “Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website” was the brainchild of Daniel Domscheit-Berg, formerly the right hand man of Julian Assange who defected from the organization on bad terms in 2010. Since the impacts of Cablegate and legal battles surrounding Julian Assange are by no means over with, it appears that many of the Wikileaks Movie projects underway may take some time to reach cinemas. However, with numerous projects in the works, it is almost guaranteed that Wikileaks watchers and movie goers will have the opportunity to see a Wikileaks Movie.

Julian Assange Extradition ‘Tizzy’, David Leigh Weighs In

While the Julian Assange Extradition ruling is another milestone for the Wikileaks Movie or documentary, it is David Leigh, co-author of a recent Wikileaks book, who caught our attention today in his article “It’s Julian Assange’s own ‘tizzy’ that bamboozles.” Julian Assange’s personal affairs, sex trial and extradition hearings have taken up tremendous resources from the core activist focus of Wikileaks the organization. This has some commentators and experts discussing ‘Peak Wikileaks’ and the time when this organization will cease to be a hard-core journalistic game changer due in part to all of these personal distractions. Finally, Assange’s own commentary on his case has been varied, at different times blaming different sources for his legal troubles, which brings Assange’s own strategy and personality more into play. David Leigh sheds initial light on the personal situation of Assange and then attempts to bring us back to more serious matters of focus such as the impact of Wikileaks on the current situation in the Middle East and the treatment of Bradley Manning. Author Suzanna Bowling recently provided a status update on the various Wikileaks movie project and Julian Assange films underway. In her article she documents up to six Wikileaks Movie and film projects along with some spicy writing of her own. The press continues to highlight the role of Julian Assange in the Wikileaks story.
