Wikileaks Movie and Film Art…Artists “Leaking” Visions with Paint and Pixels

For the Wikileaks movie and film projects which artists and what style of art will be featured? The Wikileaks film projects obviously have a rich trove of original data and source material to draw inspiration and facts from. Moreover, there is a deep body of news, blogging and journalistic coverage from the likes of Greg Mitchell and Raffi Khatchadourian. The film makers, script writers and researchers who do well will obviously need to develop a solid understanding of this material. But in addition, there is an outstanding collective of independent artists rendering works of art in a range of media. These are works of art that can be utilize to evoke the energy, atmosphere and intensity of the Wikileaks and Julian Assange story in movie, film and video.

Bradley Manning Documentary The Guardian, The Madness of Bradley Manning

The Bradley Manning Outdoor Billboard Campaign, started by the Bradley Manning Support Network and EpicStep, has exceeded its fundraising pledge goal. Thus a billboard will be prominently installed in Washington D.C. This is yet another EpicStep billboard to be completely funded and installed, the other two being Julian Assange billboards placed in Los Angeles and Chicago. For the Bradley Manning Billboard in Washington D.C. , to-date over 300 supporters have raised $17,000, exceeding the initial goal set of $15,000. The successful placement of this Bradley Manning billboard in Washington D.C. will no doubt raise the profile and increase attention to the related contentious issues of Wikileaks, Julian Assange and the detention of accused whistleblower Bradley Manning.

Wikileaks Billboards, Wikileaks Art and Wikilosers. Has a nice ring to it, huh? When it comes to the Wikileaks Movie and Trailer we’ve got a soundtrack coming together and a veritable feast of odd, smart and/or exciting characters. And the ideas continue to present themselves with the Wikileaks Billboard campaign and a robust archive of Wikileaks Art and Wikilosers chronicled by Charles Homans in Foreign Policy Magazine. That’s right, this week Charles Homans at Foreign Policy Magazine did an outstanding job of documenting those who have lost jobs, reputation (and perhaps a few girlfriends) due to information revealed about them in the historic and ongoing Wikileaks Cablegate drama. And a bunch of activist upstarts have leveraged online fundraising and billboard tools to build a grassroots movement to place strategic Pro-Wikileaks billboards around the US, beginning in Los Angeles. All of this action and detail provides excellent information for directors at the various Wikileaks film and movie studios as well as visuals…Yes, the Wikileaks visuals and art and advertising are phenomenal from a creative design standpoint. These include the Epic Step Billboards, the work from Courage is Contagious and others. These displays of social creativity and visual arts are amazing and will add to the richness of the Wikileaks movie and film projects.
