Is Julian Assange really a CIA Spy and Wikileaks a CIA Front? Well according to a new opportunistic book by Daniel Estulin, he is, and Wikileaks just drew attention to it on Twitter. And in the spirit of this new revelation, our Wikileaks-Movie.com contributing artists thought it is fitting for a new James Bond 007 movie remix entitled “The Spy Who Leaked Me”. The WikiLeaks fundraising & donations effort continues to evolve just as the Federal Grand Jury investigation of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange swings into gear in Alexandria, Virginia. The fundraising effort by WikiLeaks, which is in need of funds to sustain itself organizationally, includes an exclusive Lunch with Assange eBay auction as well as the use of controversial new Bitcoin virtual currency. With regards to the “Lunch with Assange,” a small group of “Eight admirers of Julian Assange can bid on a 3 hour dinner ‘in one of the best restaurants in London’.” Interested bidders and donors are making bids now at eBay. This is something donors interested in the WikiLeaks cause and looking for time with Assange will appreciate. But what about the menu? Greg Mitchell, as always, has something to say. Should be braised leeks.” At the same time WikiLeaks recently via Twitter today that the organization is now accepting Bitcoin virtual currency donations as a part of the ongoing WikiLeaks fundraising effort. Bitcoins, Andy Greenberg notes, are “a wholly digital and theoretically untraceable currency.” The adoption of Bitcoins by WikiLeaks comes at a moment when this form of virtual currency is both hotly contested and adopted.

While the Julian Assange Extradition ruling is another milestone for the Wikileaks Movie or documentary, it is David Leigh, co-author of a recent Wikileaks book, who caught our attention today in his article “It’s Julian Assange’s own ‘tizzy’ that bamboozles.” Julian Assange’s personal affairs, sex trial and extradition hearings have taken up tremendous resources from the core activist focus of Wikileaks the organization. The Wikileaks Trial and legal team has added O.J. Simpson and Pentagon Papers Lawyer Alan Dershowitz from Harvard Law School. At this time, it appears that Dershowitz’ role will be limited until the potential time when Julian Assange is prosecuted in US courts. Alan Dershowitz has had a very impactful, high-profile career as a legal rock star, playing a role on the O.J. Simpson “Dream Team” and Pentagon Papers incident in the 1970′s. The addition of powerful, name brand legal experts such as Dershowitz adds even more visibility into Wikileaks and the legal implications of this matter. As Julian Assange and Wikileaks becomes a pop culture phenomenon it will be important to follow the day-to-day impact of Wikileaks, Cablegate and other activities more central to the purpose of this organization. One thing is for certain, the cast of leading characters is expanding in real life. How these characters are portrayed in the Wikileaks movie is another matter to follow closely.
