Earl Anthony Wayne Replaces Carlos Pascual

Earl Anthony Wayne will serve as the new Ambassador to Mexico, taking the post vacated since the resignation of Carlos Pascual. Pascual resigned earlier this year after WikiLeaks cables disclosed his critique of Mexican authorities and President Felipe Calderón. Earl Anthony Wayne most recently served as deputy ambassador to Afghanistan. Wayne, a California native, earned a Political Science degree in Political Science from Berkeley as well as Master’s degrees in Political Science and Public Administration from Stanford, Princeton and Harvard.

U.S. Senator John McCain Calls for “Temporary Cyber Security and Electronic Intelligence Leaks” Committee

United States Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has called on Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to support the development of a “Temporary Select Committee on Cyber Security and Electronic Intelligence Leaks in the United States Senate” to overcome competing jurisdictions and bureaucracy associated with currently existing committees and groups. In his letter, Senator McCain evoked quoted current US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta “The next Pearl Harbor we confront could very well be a cyber attack…” McCain’s “Call to Committee” drew a quick response from Senators Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins who called his proposal “… a real mistake and a waste of time…” which would dismantle supposed progress that has been made in recent years by other committees, task forces and other groups.

LulzSec hacker suspect is arrested in the UK. A British teenager, Ryan Cleary, has been arrested in a joint police operation in the UK and is suspected of being a mastermind behind the international computer hacking group LulzSec (aka LulzSecurity & The Lulz Boat). LulzSec has denied Cleary is a part of their hacker group via Twitter.

The arrest of the 19-year-old comes just days after the group claimed it brought down the US Central Intelligence Agency’s website, along with many other high profile government and corporate websites. Scotland Yard immediately launched an investigation and detectives from the force’s E-Crime Unit swooped in on the teen’s home in Wickford, Essex, on Monday.

LulzSec Brings Down CIA Website – Creates “Call-In Line To Take Hacking Requests” – Plus “The Lulz Boat” Art Remixes

CIA website hacked… “Tango Down”. The LulzSec hackers, otherwise known as “The Lulz Boat” or “Lulz Security”, continued to leave a giant wake as they entered a new hacking spree focusing on disrupting unsecured online gaming, government and corporate websites. LulzSec recently hacked PBS, Sony & FBI InfraGard and have continued to set their sites on taking down high profile targets.

After setting up a popular LulzSec call-in hotline on Twitter to take hacking requests, LulzSec claimed new successes such as the CIA, the U.S. Senate and video game makers. LulzSec termed the successful attacks as Tango Down.
