WikileaksWPP1_by-Exiled-Surfer

It’s a dream situation for Wikileaks movie and film producers. Julian Assange, in an exclusive interview with RT, has indicated that recent Wikileaks releases are only “the tip of the iceberg.” Think the Guantanamo Files and Collateral Murder video are as sensational and high-impact as it gets? Well…think again.

Will the Wikileaks Movie by DreamWorks cast Matt Damon in the star role as Assange? Who will play Bradley Manning or members of Anonymous? So many questions! In recent days odds makers have Matt Damon and Russell Crowe as the leaders in the Wikileaks Movie actor race. All the while Bradley Manning’s treatment in Quantico has human rights activists and politicians ranging from John Kerry to Dennis Kucinich making public statements…which leads the Wikileaks-Movie.com team to the question “Who will play the role of Bradley Manning in the Wikileaks Movie?” and how will his involvement with Julian Assange be portrayed by studios such as DreamWorks? Whether it’s Matt Damon or Russell Crowe in the leading role, who will play other roles such as Bradley Manning or members of the group Anonymous? All of these perspectives in the Wikileaks story are important and need to be carefully considered for by DreamWorks and any actors such as Matt Damon who play a part in the Wikileaks Movie.

Wikileaks Movie fans this week saw Spielberg jump into the movie mix while Bradley Manning was indicted on 22 counts and forced to sleep naked in his prison cell, which elicited a strong response from Anonymous. As Wikileaks-movie.com reported, Spielberg and his DreamWorks studios have optioned two books, an exciting turn of events as another movie heavyweight is attracted to the allure and impact of Julian Assange and Wikileaks. Team Wikileaks responded to this news with a twitter post of historic proportions. “This is how bullshit ends up being history,” the post read. At the same time Wikileaks source Bradley Manning’s jail treatment and legal case reached a key milestone. The US Army announced 22 new charges against Manning after concluding a seven-month investigation. Then a dispute over Manning being forced to sleep naked emerged, with Anonymous announcing Operation Bradley, a “media war” targeting the US Military. There are so many compelling and relevant elements to the Wikileaks story and for this reason we are seeing the emergence of multiple Wikileaks Movie projects.

Wikileaks Movie: Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios Options Two Books

Hollywood Walk of Fame (by b00nj)

The Wikileaks Movie universe expanded this week as Speilberg’s DreamWorks Studios optioned movie rights to two books on Wikileaks and Julian Assange. While no director or producer has been associated with this Wikileaks Movie we have confirmed through numerous sources that Dreamworks Studios, which is co-owned by Steven Spielberg, has indeed acquired rights to two books. The first book, titled “WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy” was written by journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding who work at The Guardian and have been deeply involved in the Wikileaks and Julian Assange affair. The other book, titled “Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website” was the brainchild of Daniel Domscheit-Berg, formerly the right hand man of Julian Assange who defected from the organization on bad terms in 2010. Since the impacts of Cablegate and legal battles surrounding Julian Assange are by no means over with, it appears that many of the Wikileaks Movie projects underway may take some time to reach cinemas. However, with numerous projects in the works, it is almost guaranteed that Wikileaks watchers and movie goers will have the opportunity to see a Wikileaks Movie.
