Wikileaks, Gandhi and the India Anti-Corruption Movement

julian_assange_leak_by_yugivn-d354xer

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, speaking recently about Gandhi and India, has stated that the anti-corruption movement in this country has been inspired by the Wikileaks release of Cablegate materials by the Hindu. Revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and the Middle East has definitely been influenced by the release of U.S. diplomatic cables. And now, with the recent collaboration with Wikileaks and the Hindu, Wikileaks is sparking open debate and health civil society conflict around anti-corruption efforts in India. The impact of Wikileaks, Cablegate and Julian Assange is further cemented by these statements. What will be interesting to observe is how the multitude of Wikileaks Movie, Film and Documentary projects will cover these tangible “impacts” of Wikileaks and Julian Assange.

The Knife of Bradley Manning and Indian Students Attacked in Austrailia

Pfc. Bradley Manning, whose name is carved permanently in whistleblower and Wikileaks Movie history, brandished a knife while threatening his stepmother in 2006. This story emerges after a recent PBS Frontline coverage on Wikileaks, with particular focus on the life history of Bradley Manning. Manning first made headlines after surfacing as the whistleblower responsible for the massive leak of US diplomatic cables to Wikileaks who then embarked on Cablegate to make those classified and secret documents available to the public via various news agency partnerships. After Manning was turned in he was jailed at Virginia’s Quantico prison where his treatment came under fire from various dignitaries and organizations including P.J. Crowley, who later resigned over his comments regarding the “stupid” treatment of Bradley Manning.

The Wikileaks Movie Trailer…One for the Ages

wl_by_reymond_p_scene-d34xbi6

Wikileaks Movie Trailer: After the dust of history settles how will Wikileaks, Julian Assange and Bradley Manning be judged? And for die-hard movie fans how will history judge the Wikileaks Movie Trailer (or trailers)? These are profound questions that the team at Wikileaks-Movie.com ponders. But what makes for a great trailer, anyhow? And given the range of impacts and perspectives which Wikileaks has created, what will make a Wikileaks Movie trailer great? Will there be scenes from Quantico? Will we be drawn into Bradley Manning’s mind as he hits “save” on the trove of Cablegate documents stored on a Lady Gaga CD? Will there be a semi-steamy (hopefully not too steamy) look into the sexual trials and missteps of Julian Assange? How about heated, fist-pounding debates in India over wikileaks cables and political bribes and corruption? Or heart-wrenching footage from the infamous Collateral Murder leak? Perhaps a quick flight through the Wikileaks lair or a glimpse of Assange dancing or dressed like a grandmother to avoid detection? Who knows, perhaps the trailer will start with someone reading through their copy of the Julian Assange Biography? An unforgettably audacious trailer captivates an audience, creating a force field that draws in the minds, hearts and wallets of movie goers and Wikileaks Movie DVD buyers. The Wikileaks movie studios and Julian Assange documentary makers will succeed if they can somehow distill the wide range of Wikileaks topics and perspectives into a concise, evocative trailer that creates a dramatic “pull” and succeeds as a cornerstone of successfull movie advertising. The Wikileaks Movie Trailer will be a challenge to craft, just as the Wikileaks Movie will be for the many studios who are attempting to grapple with this story. But for the studio who nails the trailer…truly nails it…the movie going crowds and Wikileaks faithful will be very kind.

India, PM Manmohan in Wikileaks Debate as Kuwait Wikileaks Launches

(Source: London Summit)

India and PM Manmohan is tangled in a fiery Wikileaks debate just as Kuwait Wikileaks launches with 8 documents. While it’s too early to assess the impact of Wikileaks Kuwait, India PM Manmohan drew fire from Julian Assange and the Indian parliament opposition for misleading statements about Wikileaks. The passion with which the Indian parliament operates certainly grabs one’s attention. In fact, Wikileaks has brought a level of global policy and diplomacy education to so many people, people who otherwise would not pay attention to such things. This is due, the team at Wikileaks-Movie.com asserts, to the rare combo of techno-thrilling-intrigue which lightens up and brings some spicy action to information which traditionally only policy wonks care about. Now more people than ever are cultivating their inner diplomatic nerdness as they dive into candid reviews of the state of democracy throughout the world. From Turkey and India to Costa Rica, Mexico and the United States the Wikileaks Movie news is rolling in front of our eyes and computer screens. Hopefully this interest in the Wikileaks story translates into large audiences for the Wikileaks Film and Movie studios who are taking risk. Hopefully the Julian Assange Biography and memoir will be well read and critiqued. And hopefully the Wikileaks movie studios choose talented actors who can do a good job in highlighting Bradley Manning and Julian Assange. The Wikileaks film and movie projects are one-of-a-kind opportunities worthy of such care and investment.

Wikileaks Cables Ignites India Over Bribery and Corruption Charges. Great Stuff for Democracy & The Wikileaks Movie!

voodoo_of_wikileaks_by_pipisipispisi-d34dokp

Wikileaks Cables. Political rage in India. Bribery and Corruption Charges. This is the stuff that makes for great Wikileaks movie material. More importantly, the Wikileaks release of US-India diplomatic communications has fueled healthy democratic conflict and debate as a political firestorm currently rages in India over bribery charges. This conflict emerged when The Hindu, via its partnership agreement with Wikileaks, released a communication from U.S. Embassy Official Steven White which described a suitcase of money being shown to him from an Indian congressional aid. This happened just as a key parliamentary vote over an India/US civilian nuclear agreement was set to occur. The allegations of bribery and corruption in India stemming from this Wikileaks release have fueled intense debate and conflict between the majority government and opposition parties. High level conflicts, political discourse like this clearly demonstrates the impact of Wikileaks, founded by Julian Assange. This lends further merit to the notion that a Wikileaks Movie, if crafted in a balanced and creative fashion, will be interesting to citizen movie goers and popular on a global scale. Blending political firestorms, such as the one currently raging in India, with intriguingly eccentric characters will add a sense of energy and action to the Wikileaks Movie. Getting beyond this dramatic action to find ways to bring substance and education to audiences will be key, as the unfolding Wikileaks story has so much substance. It would be a shame to watch a Wikileaks Movie if it didn’t bring important issues and questions into the theaters.

Assange Asserts Cablegate Role in Arab Uprisings, Turkish and Indian News Partners With Wikileaks

julian_assange___truth_by_gas01ine-d350ky1

Wikileaks Movie focal point Julian Assange asserted the role of Cablegate in recent Arab Uprisings just as Wikileaks has developed partnerships with Turkish and Indian Papers. Speaking to the Cambridge Union Society, Assange shared his perspective with students that the “Cablegate” release of US Diplomatic cables contributed to the downfall of government regimes in Egypt and Tunisia. These spectacular uprisings, which quickly magnetized the hearts and minds of millions of Egyptian and Tunisian citizens, were, according to Julian Assange influenced and catalyzed by the Wikileaks Cables. Whether this can be proven “without a doubt” is uncertain, however what is certain is that the various Wikileaks Movie, film and DVD projects underway will only be improved by bringing the impact of Wikileaks on Arab uprisings in the Middle East to light for movie goers. (FYI Julian Assange: A Modern Day Hero? will likely be released in Early May). At the same time as Assange has surfaced to draw this connection, two Turkish and Indian papers have partnered with Wikileaks to analyze and release diplomatic cables pertinent to their readers. These key partnerships take place just as Anonymous has made further headlines for releasing leaked information on Bank of America. The story and impact of Julian Assange and Wikileaks continues to unfold and we can expect continued impact and news into the foreseeable future. The nuggets of relevant information combined with potential for cinematic action and drama continue to surface for producers and script writers tackling the Wikileaks Movie and Julian Assange film projects.
