From CNN’s ‘WikiWars’ to the theatrical production of Ron Elisha’s “Stainless Steel Rat,” the WikiLeaks and Julian Assange story is now being interpreted for the public on television, in cinemas and in theaters around the globe. Given that these interpretations have an impact on the public’s perception and understanding of this important story it is in the public’s vital interest to exchange direct, honest reviews to inform opinion. Another Wikileaks Movie? No…a Wikileaks Play for Theatre Lovers…Focused on Making a Wikileaks Film!

Wikileaks Movie & Film Projects abound but it’s about time that a Wikileaks Play or “Wikiplay” is developed for Theatre Lovers. Thanks to @issylvia for sharing the news about this play called “Stainless Steel Rat” directed by Wayne Harrison and starring Sydney-based actor Darren Weller in the star role as Julian Assange. The Wikiplay will open Sydney’s Seymour Centre the next month on June 30, 2011 and will be centered around the story of a movie and film director producing a film about Wikileaks and Julian Assange. Hilarious! One wonders whether the actual Wikileaks movie and film directors Alex Gibney, Charles Ferguson or Marc Shmuger will be interviewed?

Will HBO choose Russell Crowe for its Wikileaks Movie? Emile Hirsch? Who will be the Wikileaks Movie Actors? The question on everyone’s mind is: who will play Julian Assange in the upcoming HBO Wikileaks Movie & Film directed by Charles Ferguson? A lot of actors are surely up to the task but we think one of the best choices to play Julian Assange is Russell Crowe. Why would Russell Crowe be a good Wikileaks Movie Actor? The answer is simple: Crowe is the kind of major star who unlike many other actors can drum up a lot of interest for this important film. Furthermore, Crowe is an Australian just like Julian Assange. Finally, Russell Crowe is only seven years older than Assange, making him a good age for the role.

The Knife of Bradley Manning and Indian Students Attacked in Austrailia

Pfc. Bradley Manning, whose name is carved permanently in whistleblower and Wikileaks Movie history, brandished a knife while threatening his stepmother in 2006. This story emerges after a recent PBS Frontline coverage on Wikileaks, with particular focus on the life history of Bradley Manning. Manning first made headlines after surfacing as the whistleblower responsible for the massive leak of US diplomatic cables to Wikileaks who then embarked on Cablegate to make those classified and secret documents available to the public via various news agency partnerships. After Manning was turned in he was jailed at Virginia’s Quantico prison where his treatment came under fire from various dignitaries and organizations including P.J. Crowley, who later resigned over his comments regarding the “stupid” treatment of Bradley Manning.
