LulzSec hacker suspect is arrested in the UK. A British teenager, Ryan Cleary, has been arrested in a joint police operation in the UK and is suspected of being a mastermind behind the international computer hacking group LulzSec (aka LulzSecurity & The Lulz Boat). LulzSec has denied Cleary is a part of their hacker group via Twitter.

The arrest of the 19-year-old comes just days after the group claimed it brought down the US Central Intelligence Agency’s website, along with many other high profile government and corporate websites. Scotland Yard immediately launched an investigation and detectives from the force’s E-Crime Unit swooped in on the teen’s home in Wickford, Essex, on Monday.

The LulzSec Hackers targetting PBS. CyberWars. China hacking Google…again. What??? These are topics many of us struggle to get our arms around. At Wikileaks-Movie.com we are interested in all things Wikileaks and ourselves are working to learn more about the role of hacking and hacktivists in this story. This week’s news about the LulzSec “hack” into PBS sure got us thinking as has that “Hacktivism” of Anonymous. With this in mind we have attempted to put together our perspective and some resources for your review. Hacking the Focus of New U.S. “CyberSecurity” Strategy

Wikileaks-Movie.com Alert – New U.S. CyberSecurity Strategy. In recent days Hackers have made headlines. We’ve witnessed the LulzSec (or Lulz Boat) “Tupac” hacking of PBS after the WikiSecrets Frontline documentary was released. Also, the recent hacker attack on the systems of defense contractor Lockheed Martin, which provides critical equipment and resources to the US Military, has drawn major attention. Prior to these events there was the high-profile infiltration of Google (likely by China), Sony, and action taken by hacktivists associated with Anonymous who infiltrated HB Gary, PayPal and other companies who took action against Wikileaks. The new U.S. CyberSecurity Strategy will be introduced in June and early indications threaten serious military action against large scale hackers who can be identfied. Whether this strategy will address decentralized hacker networks such as LulzSec (The Lulz Boat) or focus on larger nation-backed hacking initiatives remains to be seen.

Anonymous Wikileaks Hackers Strike HBGary Federal & CEO Aaron Barr

The Anonymous Wikileaks hackers have struck again, targeting online security firm HB Gary Federal and CEO Aaron Barr. Wikileaks hacktivists, particularly the group Anonymous, have played a central role in the Julian Assange saga and no doubt the Wikileaks Movie (s). This week’s attack by Anonymous, a group inspired to defend Wikileaks, aimed at the HBGary Federal website, involved the theft of a large number of email messages and also targeted the Twitter account of CEO Aarron Barr. Anonymous is playing a strong role in the Wikileaks story. Along with the legal battles surrounding Julian Assange, a new battle front has been opened in cyberspace. How this cyberspace battle and these passionate, super-smart Anonymous Wikileaks hackers will be portrayed in the Wikileaks movie remains to be seen.

Wikileaks Movie Material: Steven Colbert Gets Anonymous with HBGary and Glenn Greenwald

The Wikileaks video and film footage is multiplying as Steven Colbert focuses on Anonymous, HB Gary and Glenn Greenwald. These videos, which could certainly provide some great clip action for the Wikileaks Movie projects, are hilarious. For instance, the following passage is one for the Wikileaks movie and film hall of fame “To put that in hacker terms…Anonymous is a Hornet’s Nest…and Barr said “I’m going to stick my penis in that thing” Enough said. Wikileaks “Hunton” Trip? Bank of America & Chamber of Commerce Proposals Targeting Wikileaks, Glenn Greenwald and others

The Wikileaks movie script continues to unfold as Bank of America and the Chamber of Commerce consider proposals for a “Hunton” trip on Wikileaks. In a recent Dylan Ratigan Show, Salon’s Glenn Greenwald describes how top D.C. law firm Hunton & Williams, while working for Bank of America and the Chamber of Commerce, solicited proposals for disrupting Wikileaks and key thought leaders such as Glenn Greenwald. These proposals were co-developed by Hunton as well as security firms such as HBGary Federal and Palantir and personally named members of the media, including Glenn Greenwald himself. This story opens a revealing window for concerned citizens no matter what side of the Wikileaks fence you’re on. Also an outstanding story of legal and cyberwarfare to thread into the Wikileaks movie and film projects.
