“To BCC, or not to BCC, that is the question.” In today’s Guardian, former WikiLeaks member James Ball traces the roots of Bradley Manning’s detention to an early email error made by Julian Assange relating to the CC/BCC fields. This seemingly small error, Ball explains, sparked a series of events leading to Bradley Manning’s detention and a host of other implications. This is a very interesting exercise in “connecting the dots” by Ball to explain his point that anonymity and source protection involve much more then technology, encryption and cyber security.
